INT. ANDREW’S HOUSE – NIGHT
ANDREW at a computer, watching a colleague, Rob’s photo. He types a message for Rob on his Facebook page. Andrew closes the application and shuts down his computer. His mobile phone rings.
SHEILA (on the phone)
Hi, honey. So when are we meeting? It seems as though we are going on our second date! Anyway, this is our first Valentine’s Day since we got married.
ANDREW (on the phone)
I will be there at The Blue Fox in 10 minutes.
EXT. LONDON STREET – NIGHT
Andrew is driving. His face has a frown. His iPhone beeps. He picks up the phone and reads a text message. The phone rings. He picks it up. Rob’s face appears on Andrew’s iPhone screen. Andrew cuts off the ring.
(Mumbles) He is crazy.
EXT. THE BLUE FOX NIGHT CLUB – NIGHT
Love songs playing. People, mostly young couples, are dancing. Heart-shaped balloons on the walls and ceiling. Bar open. Andrew enters through the door, unsmiling. He looks around and finds Sheila seated at a table. She looks up and waves at him. Andrew walks toward her. She hugs him tightly, but he responds with a light embrace.
Honey, I have a secret gift for you tonight.
(Pulling Andrew toward the dance floor) No, not so fast, darling. Come on. Let’s dance, but a little slowly – I want life to unfold like a flower.
(Dancing with Sheila) How was your day at work? Busy?
Busy as usual. But, let the day be; talk about the night. Oh, what happened to you? You okay?
Umm ... okay ... (Cuts off a call on his mobile phone.)
(Pulling Andrew closer) Oh, I can’t wait, honey. (Kisses him on the lips, but he ends the smooch, excusing himself.)
INT. MEN’S RESTROOM
(On the phone) Rob, I don’t want to play any games with you. Let me say one last time, “I am not your kind. I really hope you find someone, but it’s not me. I will always be your friend.”
INT. THE BLUE FOX DANCE FLOOR
Sheila is waiting. Andrew returns, now smiling.
How could you leave me like that? (Whispering into his ear) Don’t you want the secret gift? I am going to be a mother!
I am so sorry -- and I am so happy (hugs and kisses Sheila).
On Valentine's Day, one sensitive man gets back on track after falling briefly for a colleague's overtures.
